Au Maison Have Done It Again
In stock now, this fantastic new oil cloth from Au Maison. Perfect for when the sun eventually comes out but if that doesn't work, at least it helps keep the table clean with the school holiday's looming.
With new floral, stripy & spotty design's we couldn't be more thrilled (I particularly love the scarlet stripe design. It makes me think of summer, lolly pop's and seaside fun!)
Good Friends Need Telling!!
I am a pretty lucky lady & have a fine selection of the most perfect collection of friends. They come from all walks of life & play different roles in my life as I am sure I do in there's. This doesn't mean to say I have 'millions' of friend's, yes I have a lot of friends that are brilliant for a great night out, the odd coffee catch up & general fun & frolic's and they mean the world to me. In fact, without them perking up my day, I can imagine it would be pretty glum. But the friend's I am talking about here are the ones I only get to see on an 'ad hoc' 'when we can' basis because of distance, time, career's & family life. Despite this when we do it's like it was yesterday. Time stands still for these friend's. No matter what as happened we can simply pick up and carry on where we left off. The friend's that don't judge (but don't always condone), know when to tell you the truth & when to keep stum. These friends, these crazy, forever true, emotionally loving, walk on coal for you, doesn't matter if I haven't seen you in a year, I'm here now friends; these are what make my life complete & the one's I truly cherish (and without naming them they know who they are) xx Love you xx

Oil Cloth Fabric? Just Wipe It Clean
Au Maison..... We love this fabric
Ooooh those gorgeous clever Danish designers at Au Maison. Yes we have almost sold out of or original order and the second one is on its way and we couldn't be more excited! When we found it my inspiration was a notion that it would be used in summer days spent outside basking in the sun with friends & wine. So fa that doesn't seem to be how its turned out. However its still as popular as ever with customers using it every day to simply keep there table clean and free from stains & spills. This fabric is great, oil cloth fabric in classic and fun prints is perfect for everyday use indoors (those messy kids over the Summer holidays) and perfect for transferring outside when (I say this with a heavy heart) the weather allows a little afternoon tea in the garden, simple pleasures (we hope)!

Ps we are getting a few more designs in stock so keep coming back and checking them out... stripy reds, floral over blue dots & pretty english classics.....

Country Life... Country Stores
Tidying your home by maximising your storage will help you feel less cluttered & more organised (as my husband keeps telling me when he glances at my chaotic desk, "tidy home is a tidy mind" ). While I hate it when he's right (I can see the smug grin on his face as I type this) I have to say in this instance I agree & with accessories that will make your home ordered, organised and clutter free hopefully we can aim to make your home less, 'cluttered & disorganised' and create a relaxing haven.

emergency bunting......
....... lets get sewing (or sticking for those of us that like to cheat)
You will need:
Vintage Fabric and thread (or why not think of cheaply using magazine adverts with bright colours or pretty paper for quick and easy idea)
13mm-wide bias binding tape or really pretty ribbon
pinking shears or scissors
1) Draw a triangle the size of the bunting you would like, on some cardboard and cut it out to use as a template.
2) Pin the template to your fabric and cut around it using pinking shears to avoid fraying. Repeat until you have enough flags.
3) Evenly space the flags along the bias binding tape, or in the middle of the ribbon, folding the shortest edge over, and pin in place.
4) Sew on the flags with a straight stitch, or hole punch along if using paper and weave in and out leaving at least 40cm of tape free from flags at each end for hanging.
No party would be complete without bunting........
'In this country we find it virtually impossible to celebrate anything without bunting..........'

Cluck Cluck Cluck... the joys of free range eggs.....
There is nothing more satisfying that the crack of a newly laid egg cracking into a bowl or hot pan. Using newly laid eggs for their best use by creating a range of delicious treats. If baking take out of the fridge in advance so they are at room temperature before using. Left over yolks or whites can be frozen separably for using in sweet or savoury dishes. However you use them the original is still the best, there really is nothing more tasty that poached egg on thick cut toast with a twist of salt & pepper..... bliss
